Bonaventure Cemetery
During this 2.5 hour tour, you will be joining a very exclusive club of people who have seen the cemetery after it closes to the public. Not since it opened in 1846 has this been an opportunity, but thanks to your very special local host, now it is. You are literally locked in the cemetery the entire time; for the right taker, there's no price you can put on the joy of that. Imagine having the serenity, stillness, and quiet of the cemetery, uninterrupted by the living world. Stories stretch from the present day all the way back to Bonaventure's plantation beginnings in 1754. Our topics range from the funny and uplifting to the macabre at its most morbid. Some of the stories that will be covered include those of: • A "hooch runner" for Al Capone • A bizarre love story that ended in one murder and one visit to the electric chair • Savannah's role in The DaVinci Code • Lady Minerva & Jim Williams in Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil

We did a private tour of Bonaventure and the Catholic cemetery. It was so interesting. Shannon is knowledgeable and a very interesting tour guide. He has personal experiences with a lot of the families in the cemeteries because of his years of living in Savannah. I highly recommend a private tour. He spent over 2 hours with us!

We decided to go to Savannah on a whim. One of the things we did during our two day stay was the Bonaventure After Hours! Shannon was very accommodating especially since we made our reservation last minute. This was such a fantastic way to experience Bonaventure. The tour was all inclusive covering the history or the cemetery itself along with some intriguing stories about some of the people buried there and some history of Savannah itself. Shannon was very genuine with his story telling and it was a delight to see his passion for his subject material. We will definitely do this again as I'm sure there are more stories! A great experience for anyone in the area. Also wear sneakers and bring bug spray and water. Enjoy!

What an unexpected treat! My sister bought us tickets for an after-hours journey in Bonaventure Cemetery. Shannon is the consummate storyteller. He combines his passion for art, history, and literature to share almost 3 hours of Savannah's secrets. Cemeteries were our first public parks! You will hear of skilled artisans that were an integral part of Bonaventure's history, from the design of the grounds to the memorials. And the stories! Shannon will easily spend 10 minutes at a site, intriguing you with details of the lives and subsequent deaths of some very interesting people. Bring your camera and your bug spray. Our tour was sold out, so plan ahead.
