Bonaventure Cemetery
During this 2.5 hour tour, you will be joining a very exclusive club of people who have seen the cemetery after it closes to the public. Not since it opened in 1846 has this been an opportunity, but thanks to your very special local host, now it is. You are literally locked in the cemetery the entire time; for the right taker, there's no price you can put on the joy of that. Imagine having the serenity, stillness, and quiet of the cemetery, uninterrupted by the living world. Stories stretch from the present day all the way back to Bonaventure's plantation beginnings in 1754. Our topics range from the funny and uplifting to the macabre at its most morbid. Some of the stories that will be covered include those of: • A "hooch runner" for Al Capone • A bizarre love story that ended in one murder and one visit to the electric chair • Savannah's role in The DaVinci Code • Lady Minerva & Jim Williams in Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil

Our family has done many ghost tours since moving to Savannah; we also love visiting Bonaventure Cemetery. Shannon's tour seemed the perfect idea for a pre-Christmas evening while everyone was visiting and it was. It is a rare opportunity to visit "after hours" starting at sunset. The setting alone at dark would have been enough, but Shannon introduced us, with almost a reverence, to a dozen residents of Bonaventure, their lives and place in history. Some were famous, some obscure but known to him. He was articulate, engaging and smart; has done his research and can tell a story. It was a hauntingly beautiful evening and I find myself reflecting today on some of the things he told us. Bonaventure does beckon you back and Shannon has brought us closer to her. It is not your typical " ghost tour" at all!!!!!

Being locked in a cemetery for 2 hours with such a great story teller was simply amazing. The first hour you were able to enjoy the beauty of Bonaventure just before dusk, and the 2nd hour experiencing it at night! I highly recommend this tour. It was well organized, informative and Mr. Scott is very passionate about what he does and is also quite charming.

This was one of the highlights of our latest trip to Savannah! The Bonaventure Cemetery is hauntingly beautiful, and taking Shannon Scott's tour made it an unforgettable experience. Shannon knows a great deal of the history of the cemetery and its "residents" and has a dramatic flair for telling their stories. The tour lasted two hours (actuallly we ran over because we were asking so many questions) and the four of us were enthralled the entire time. We called Shannon the day before, arranged a time, and met him at the cemetery. $20 each. Best bargain in Savannah. Web site is www.bonaventurejourneys.com. Can't recommend it highly enough.
