Overview

Walk, talk and taste your way through historic Charleston South Carolina. This small-group 2.5-hour tour will immerse you in the history and culture of the Lowcountry and allow you to experience a remarkable culinary scene in downtown Charleston. Stops along the way will include many of the city’s leading restaurants through out the city. Typical tastings include: stone ground grits, Southern pralines, sweet tea, collard greens, Lowcountry barbeque, and fried green tomatoes.

Charleston City Market

Built in the early 1800's, this four block historical landmark was originally the city's grocery store. Today, the City Market is home to a variety of local vendors that sell their art, crafts, and local wares.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour led by Franny. She was knowledgeable and funny and kept us moving at a good pace. We loved the variety of food we tried and all the history of Charleston's cooking and dining. Thanks so much!

Should have oysters from the oyster house. All shrimp items wasnt the best. Id like to see more variety and have it paired with more of the history.

Miss Micheleleep, we try really hard to make sure our culinary tours have that certain "wow" factor, that "je ne sais quoi". It's a perfect combination of food and history that brings Charleston's cuisine to life and grabs our guests by the tips of their tongues, enough even to make their mouths go all crazy-like. A look-see of our online reviews confirms that we get it right, but it is a very subjective experience on a certain level. We are talking about matters of the palate, after all, which are, deep down, closely akin to matters of the heart. We are very sorry we didn't hit it just right in your case and we ask forgiveness. The Savor the Flavors tour is a must tour stop. Franny is a great guide sharing a great deal of history about Charleston and the unique cuisine that makes this a fascinating city. The 5 food stops were fun, we’ve already been back to 2 of them. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour.
