My husband and I have been on many food tours. What we enjoy is learning the history of a city through food. Our tour (I believe our guide was Chrisi, but not sure) guide didn't seem very interested in food. The samples were ok, didn't get any info on why the restaurants were chosen. Oyster House food was not great. Not sure about going to a spice store. Not much history discussed. Would not recommend to a foodie.

696rachaelg, We are sorry to hear about your disappointment in the tour. When it comes to the restaurant partners we work with, we want to highlight restaurants that are staying true to our local culinary traditions. When visiting historic Charleston, one element that is not historic are restaurants. There are deeply rooted culinary traditions, but not ones that came up in restaurants. It has only been in the course of the last thirty years that Charleston has evolved into the culinary mecca it is today. We will be addressing why this did not translate well with your guide going forward. We are more than happy to offer a refund for the experience. Feel free to reach out to our Tour Guide Manager, Andrew Kuhn, at [email protected] to discuss further. Thanks!

We where very pleased with our selection of this tour. Nancy was our tour guide. She was excellent explained so many different and interesting foods that are associated with Charleston. We went to four different restaurants and I must say it was more then a tasting. If you take the 2:00 PM tour I suggest you make your dinner reservations for later that evening. We definitely recommend this tour to a friend.

The Hot & Handy first stop was a new experience with pimento cheese. Loved that. And surprisingly we loved the Tea & Spice Exchange. Bought a FEW dollars worth of product there! And has our first taste of shrimp and cheese grits. Great fun. Great food. Nancy was a great tour guide
