What To Expect

Defiance Rafting

Your experience starts by meeting at the Defiance boathouse in No Name, CO in beautiful Glenwood Canyon (which is just 2 miles east of the community of Glenwood Springs). There, we will gear you up, talk about the trip, and introduce you to your river pro. Then we'll shuttle up the canyon to Grizzly Creek where we will put-in on the Colorado River. You'll begin your scenic float right away as we navigate down the lower half of Glenwood Canyon. There will be occasional splashes and opportunities to jump in the water through lower Glenwood Canyon and into the community of Glenwood Springs. • Class I–II • Trip Length: 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours (dependent on river flow) • Departs daily @ 9:00 am; 1:00 pm; and 4:00 pm • Check-In is 45 minutes prior to departure • Requirements: Paddlers must weigh at least 30lbs.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Hands down one of the best things that I've ever experienced and I owe it to Defiance. Everything concerning the experience was done professionally and our guide, Lily handled everything with the perfect amount of formal instruction combined with a massive dose of humor. It made the trip (and first raft ride) down with my wife and family (folks that flew down for a visit from Buffalo, NY, no less) everything I could've hoped for! We'll be back soon!!!

My family and I had a great time. We had a super memorable experience. My family hasn’t stopped talking about it since we’ve left. The staff is super nice and informative. You can tell that our safety is their priority and they just want us to have a good time. Our guide Lily was a great as well. Super personable and all around good energy.

We had a blast on the last day of your season on Monday, Sept 30th with Scott. It was a beautiful day just relaxing on this scenic float. If we come back next season, we will come back for sure. A must do if you are in the area! Barb, Ann, Marybeth, & Trish.
