What To Expect

Defiance Rafting

Your experience starts by meeting at the Defiance boathouse in No Name, CO in beautiful Glenwood Canyon (which is just 2 miles east of the community of Glenwood Springs). There, we will gear you up, talk about the trip, and introduce you to your river pro. Then we'll shuttle up the canyon to Grizzly Creek where we will put-in on the Colorado River. You'll begin your scenic float right away as we navigate down the lower half of Glenwood Canyon. There will be occasional splashes and opportunities to jump in the water through lower Glenwood Canyon and into the community of Glenwood Springs. • Class I–II • Trip Length: 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours (dependent on river flow) • Departs daily @ 9:00 am; 1:00 pm; and 4:00 pm • Check-In is 45 minutes prior to departure • Requirements: Paddlers must weigh at least 30lbs.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Spending the afternoon on the Colorado River was definitely one of the highlights of my cousin's bachelorette party. We were a group of 8 ladies, most of which have never gone rafting before. Becca, our guide, was so much fun! Ben, the guide on the neighboring raft, was hilarious. And the views.... simply breathtaking! When we booked online, we added the photo package which I think it well worth it! I recommend booking a rafting trip with Defiance!

We had a fun afternoon rafting the Colorado through Glenwood Canyon. The scenery was beyond beautiful. At 4 months pregnant with my 6yr old daughter, it was a nice easy float. You will get wet, but that was part of the fun. Gregory was a great help in booking our group of 10. They put us in 2 boats. Jeremy was a great guide, he did most of the paddling while pointing out the highlights of the canyon and tips on having a great time in Glenwood. It was my favorite activity of our Glenwood visit!

Wife and I have always wanted to go floating and thought this mild trip would be a perfect way to start and we weren't disappointed. Great company to work with, float was perfect in length through the beautiful Glenwood Canyon. Great scenery with some fun, smaller rapids thrown in. Next time plan to try out the Shoshone Rapids for even more fun.
