My husband and I planned to take a scenic drive around the canyon but it snowed the night before and we weren’t comfortable doing it. In the morning I started looking for alternatives and found this tour with very good reviews. I called up the company and Oscar offered to pick us up right away although the tour time on the website was a few hours later. This worked perfectly well for us. We were the only ones on the tour and it was wonderful. Oscar told us a lot of about the history of the area, geology, flora and fauna. He loves what he does and wants to make the experience very memorable. Thank you for the great tour!

Oscar was a great, enthusiastic host and tour guide. He customized the tour based on our needs/preferences. I was looking for a small group non ATV Bryce Canyon tour, which is hard to find in the winter Having a guide who is from the area made it feel like we weren’t just learning about Bryce Canyon and it’s past and present, but about the history and life of those from the area. He shared his own memories of growing up going to Bryce, trail recommendations, and highlights. Great great tour!

As others have said, Mabry was terrific. Be sure to ask him about Abraham Maszlow's hierarchy of needs. The connection to Bryce is fascinating. Take good notes on the our too because you'll learn way more geology and geological history than you will remember. He also pointed out lots of interesting things about the vegetation. Bird life was a bit sparse because we were there in late-ish October. (PS - we took the regular tour which was fine. We did cover a lot of ground. If one person in your party has a walker or is generally a lot slower, it was still ok, but I suspect the private tour would also be an excellent option for you.)
