Mission San Jose is the largest mission in San Antonio. Mission San Jose was almost fully restored to its original design in the 1930s by the WPA (Works Projects Administration). While much of this mission is restored, this site gives visitors a more complete picture of the mission complex. Mission San Jose is complete with Indian Quarters, workshops, a convento, granary, church, and more.
3
Mission San Juan
Mission San Juan boasts beautiful grounds. Observe the over 300 year old acequia watering system at the San Juan farm. This mission also includes the Yanaguana Trail, which leads visitors on a short walk to an original segment of the San Antonio River.

Mission Espada
Mission Espada was the first mission in Texas, established in 1690 as San Francisco de los Tejas near present-day Weches, Texas. Brick lined structures and woven arts make Mission Espada unique.

This was an awesome experience. Nick met us at the park as promised, explained the bikes, had us test ride them and off we went. The River Walk trails are beautiful and first class. Stopped at each mission, then back to the park. Took about 3 hours not rushing. Nick was back at the park to collect the bikes, he was very pleasant and fun. Ebikes are the way to go, so much fun.

The bikes were awesome and fun to ride! The electric assist made pedaling easy and when really tired the power was there for us. My only suggestion, the reason I didn't rate as a 5, is that it would have been better if it came with a gps guided directions. The map they text is not readable when you enlarge it and signs along the way can be vague. We imagined there would be an app with voice guided directions. That would make this an amazing rental!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEDEGO! Oh what fun! My friend and I purchased the self guided electric bike mission tour and it was great. Hector met us at Roosevelt park with our bikes, helmets and complimentary water and off we went. We peddled on our own as much as we could but how nice to be able to switch over to electric when we needed a break. This was especially helpful coming back as we did spend a lot of time wandering around each mission. Such a fun and beautiful ride. I would give yourself 4 hours if you really want to tour the mission grounds. There are bathrooms at each mission and water. Nothing in way of snacks so you might consider bringing your own. Picnic areas are in abundance so bringing a lunch would be fun. Highly recommend this tour. Also, you can use the hop on and hop off bikes at kiosks but it sure was comforting to know that my bike was in perfect working condition and if we had problems we could call Pedego for assistance. It is a long bike ride.
