SF Native Local Food Tour

Overview
The Original Tour covers the most popular neighborhoods of San Francisco to provide the best local introduction to the city. The tour starts in the heart of the financial district underneath the Transamerica Pyramid. After our group introduction in SF's smallest redwood park, we'll weave our way through the secret side of downtown to see parts of the city that even locals often miss! As we explore the historical Barbary Coast we share family stories of the Wild West during the Gold Rush years. After learning about these lawless times, we'll make our way into North Beach (our Little Italy) as we sample a plethora of snacks and introducing our groups to local community businesses. We'll end the tour in our most authentic historic neighborhood, Chinatown. In Chinatown we'll visit stores and marketplaces that sell unique items, both dead & alive(!), while trying delicious authentic dim sum. Finally, we'll finish up by visiting the fortune-cookie factory and the "living room" of Chinatown.

SF Native Local Food Tour San Francisco If your looking for a great tour of the area while combining local history with great food, this is it! Our tour yesterday was to combine the colorful history of San Francisco with the tastiest foods of the culture in this area. We learned about the gold rush, fires, ships converted to buildings, culture of the people and the times, cross country train….. Our guide, Stuart Moffitt took us to several area food places while telling us the history of San Francisco AND the history of his family. Being a 5th generation San Franciscan, he has a rich history from his Great Aunt, Kate Kennedy, who successfully sued the school district to become the first District Principal in San Francisco to his father, a business owner, Stuart’s family helped make San Francisco. If you’re in the city and wish to learn the history while enjoying wonderful food, reach out and take a tour with Stuart.

Hands down the best Tour we did in SF. Stuart was an awesome tour guide. He knows so much about the city and was so enthusiastic about sharing all he knew with us accompanied with before and after pictures on his iPad of what the city was like. We stopped at so many great places with behind the scenes looks and just so much food no one went away hungry. If you can only do one tour when in SF let it be this one. You won’t be disappointed!

Excellent - thoroughly recommend it. Not just for foodies (though there’s plenty of that!), a great, passionate, interesting and informative guide that is a real SF history buff. A complete native - you won’t regret going on this one, fantastic value for money
