SF Native Local Food Tour

Overview
The Original Tour covers the most popular neighborhoods of San Francisco to provide the best local introduction to the city. The tour starts in the heart of the financial district underneath the Transamerica Pyramid. After our group introduction in SF's smallest redwood park, we'll weave our way through the secret side of downtown to see parts of the city that even locals often miss! As we explore the historical Barbary Coast we share family stories of the Wild West during the Gold Rush years. After learning about these lawless times, we'll make our way into North Beach (our Little Italy) as we sample a plethora of snacks and introducing our groups to local community businesses. We'll end the tour in our most authentic historic neighborhood, Chinatown. In Chinatown we'll visit stores and marketplaces that sell unique items, both dead & alive(!), while trying delicious authentic dim sum. Finally, we'll finish up by visiting the fortune-cookie factory and the "living room" of Chinatown.

This ranks in the top 2 or 3 walking food tours we’ve been on and Stuart is one of the very best guides we have had - and we’ve been on many, many tours in lots of cities. He is friendly, engaging and super knowledgeable and the food stops are amazing! Never been on a tour where there was leftover food that was divided up and offered to the tourers. This is the one must do tour to take in San Francisco! You will not be disappointed!

Stewart was great! He had great enthusiasm & knowledge of the City & you could tell he really loved the diverse culture. He shared his San Francisco ancestral history with many interesting stories which really added to the tour. He used his iPad to periodically show us a pictorial history of San Francisco’s people & places which was great to compare the then to now. Bring your appetite! We tried many of San Francisco’s different cultural cuisine. This tour is a must for foodies & history buffs!

Stuart gave us a true insider’s tour of the most fascinating of San Francisco’s neighborhoods. It is often scary to look under the surface of any community. Stu showed us how much fun it could be. We went back to seven of his recommendations. Highly recommend!
