Witness beautiful Rocky Mountain vistas while climbing over a beautiful mountain pass to Echo Lake at 10,600 ft. Stroll around this beautiful glacial lake sitting at the base of 14,256 foot Mt. Access into the amphitheatre is dependent on sound check closures by performers the day of. We recommend taking our morning tour for best chances of accessing the inside of the amphitheatre itself during concert seasons.

Echo Lake Park

Travel up Squaw Pass where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Continental Divide and Rocky Mountains along this Scenic Byway. You will reach beautiful Echo Lake, a glacial lake sitting at 10,600 ft at the base of Mt. Evans. Enjoy a stroll around the lake and take in the fresh mountain air and scenery.

I loved this tour! Christin was everything you'd want in a guide--great history, information & tips in a friendly, fun way--it was like a good friend showing you the sights of their hometown. I didn't feel awkward at all being a solo traveler. She used a microphone so everyone could hear what she was saying, too, which was great! The big van windows allowed us to see amazing views as we were driving and she pulled over several times so we could take pics of animals or picturesque scenery. We had a good amount of time at each location so that I didn't feel rushed at all (although I may go back to Evergreen for more shopping and eating sometime or catch a show at Red Rock). Only tip...wear waterproof shoes (or put some in your bag) in case you want to walk on the snowy trail around the lake. You can leave your extra jacket or bag in the van while you tour the places, so definitely bring one just in case. Dressing in layers was definitely the way to go!

All in all, the tour was fun and informative. Our tour guide was an excellent source of knowledge and entertainment. I would recommend anyone interested in getting out of the city and seeing some of the local wilderness.

It turned out to be the most beautiful day for this trip. Lots of sun and blue skies. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and his appreciation for the Aspen tree was quite fascinating. 😁 For my first visit to Colorado, I am glad I chose this half day tour. I also appreciated my talk with the bartender in Beauxjo's in Evergreen.
