Overview

Enjoy an all day 6-hour sightseeing bus tour of sights in and around The Great Smoky Mountains. This tour also includes lunch at Elvira's Cafe in Wears Valley. This tour will start in Pigeon Forge, Head into Gatlinburg for a short tour of the city and its history, then up the mountain to Rockefeller Memorial then back down and into Wears Valley for lunch, then to Townsend, and the Foothills before going back towards Pigeon Forge. Along the way you will hear amazing stories of local history, shop in some of the most unique places, be introduced to some of the best local dining establishments, see some of the best and least known sights, and discover some of the most amazing views in the Smoky Mountains. You will be guided by a born and raised local who knows all about what these areas have to offer. Do more than just see the mountains, experience them like never before.

What To Expect

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

We will be spending about 3 hours inside the park in various areas such as Newfound Gap, Elkmont, Metcalf Bottoms, Etc. There are some areas with stops and some areas we just pass through.

The Little River Railroad and Lumber Company Museum

We will be visiting the Artistic Bean for after brunch coffee, the Little River Railroad & Lumbar Company museum, and the Apple Valley stores.

Elkmont Ghost Town

We will drive through the old vacation resort called Daisy Town, the Ghost Town of Elkmont. We do not stop here but we provide information about the historic area.

Foothills Parkway

We will make 2 stops on the parkway for photos over the valley.

We booked The Sights of the Smokies tour and are glad we did. Our guide Matt was excellent, very informative and fun. Tour starts at their office in a shopping plaza and can be a little hard to find, it is a few shops down from Cooters. Tour was great with plenty of stops for pictures and an included lunch stop at Elvira’s Cafe. This is a great tour to see main sights of the Smokies!

Tour guide was good. Bus was not clean and smelly. Lunch stop was average. Wish it would have gone to the cove instead of shopping

The busses are cleaned daily, I'm glad it was not smelly and the lunch depends on your personal tastes, it's a free meal at one of the top reviewed restaurants in the area. We are a tour company not a lunch company but of the 1000+ people who have taken the tour only maybe 2 people have called it anything less than fantastic, you being one of the two. That being the case either 1000+ plus people are wrong or .... anyhow, yes the Cove is really wonderful and very pretty. We have a tour that goes there as well but it's all full. Self guided tours are an option just remember to stop and get the pamphlet on your way into the Cove, they only cost a dollar. Really not sure why you mention your desire to go to the Cove rather than shopping on the review but I'm glad to help point you in the right direction if you have any difficulty in finding the area. We went on this tour and loved it..was a great way to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery..our tour guide was great and also gave us alot of information about local things to do..would reccomend taking the tour early in the trip so u can do some of the things recommended..
