What To Expect
1
1st Republic Brewing Co
These breweries are sample itineraries only. All schedules are subject to change. The founders of 1st Republic Brewing, Shawn Trout and Mike Drake, both served on active duty and with distinction overseas before returning to Vermont to serve up some of the best Veteran crafted brews. In fact, 1st Republic was voted 2018’s VT Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year. They love everything about beer from brewing it to drinking it to teaching about it and to sharing it. Friends, family, and beer lovers can gather ’round the taproom for fun, games, locally delivered food, and raising a glass to good beer and good times.
2
Queen City Brewery
Founded in 2014 by long-time friends and brewers Paul Hale, Paul Held, Phil Kaszuba, and Maarten van Ryckevorsel, Queen City Brewery brews a variety of traditional ales and lagers, as well as several unique specialty beers with a focus on giving the customer a unique experience with unexpected notes in their beers that they’ve aged and fermented to produce complex flavors unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. (So yeah, we’re pretty much changing your life by bringing you here. No need to thank us.) On our tour, you’ll see why this foursome rose to frothy success as you sip your way through their suds, including a rare style they brew call ‘Steinbeer’ that’s brewed with hot rocks. The process grants less temperature control to the brewer and imparts a smoky, caramel flavor. Yep, we’ll say it again: life-changing.
3
Zero Gravity Craft Brewery
Founded in 2004, Zero Gravity Brewing was born inside a restaurant that Flatbread head brewer, Destiny Saxon, and Zero Gravity brewmaster, Paul Sayler, created called American Flatbread Burlington Hearth. For years, they brewed exclusively out of the brewpub location, but as their popularity and demand grew, in 2012, they began distributing Zero Gravity for off-premise sales, and two years later, they had fully maxed out the production at the Flatbread Brewpub. Forced to find more space, they moved operations to a beautiful 30-barrel facility in Burlington’s South End Arts District, and in the spring of 2015, the Pine Street Brewery was born.

My wife and I went to Burlington, VT for our anniversary last weekend and had a great time. The van picked us up at our hotel and after a short stop to pick up 4 other couples we were off to see just a few of the breweries that Burlington has to offer. David was very engaging, funny, and knowledgeable about brewing. He also did an excellent job of creating a fun atmosphere in a van where none of the couples knew each other. I'd definitely recommend the tour to my friends and family. The price may seem steep at first, but for the experience, variety of beer samplings, lunch, and the worry-free drinking experience it was definitely well-worth the cost. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take many photos while on the tour, I was too occupied trying to remember which of the beers I really enjoyed from each brewery.

Hi Joshua, I'm happy to hear that you and your wife enjoyed the tour (and happy belated anniversary to you both!). It's always tough to remember to take photos -- next time we'll have to remind you! Thank you so much for your review -- Cheers!!

It probably sounds stupid to say “don’t go on a beer tour if you don’t like beer,” but really don’t. I tried to be a good sport, but it was quite difficult with the hazing. Part of that was the tour group, but the guide did not help. Anyway, otherwise, the guide was great and the breweries were fun. But there are no options for non-beer drinkers. And there are few options that are not IPAs. But if you love beer, it’s great and totally worth a try!

We appreciate the honest feedback and we're sorry that you got hazed by your group for not liking beer! Unfortunately, we can't control other guests but can control our guides, who are instructed not to discriminate on beverage preference or drinking habits. Please let us know who your guide was so we can remind them of this policy. Our expert beer guides have been quite succesful at converting the non-beer drinker by introducing them to styles they haven't tried like Wilds or Goses. Had we known you didn't like beer, we could've have tweaked the itinerary to visit a local distillery or replace one of your flights for something else. If you decide to book in the future, please include that your not a huge fan of beer so we can plan accordingly.

Great tour with a very good and knowledgeable guide. There were only four on the tour that went to Vermont Pub and Brewery, Switchback, Nectars (for dinner) and Zero Gravity. Had a great selection of beer tastings - 13 in all. The guide was great and answered all our question (both beer and non beer). Great evening. Looking for to taking one of there other brew tours in DC or BOston.
