We toured the Heritage Center & Museum and enjoyed the movie prior to our 3 hour private tour. This was a first time for our children and grandchildren, this visit gave them a fabulous introduction to the conflict in Gettysburg. It provided many details that they did not know taught in their schools. The individual guided tour is well worth the money, these guides are both knowledgeable and passionate and the information they share is unbelievable.

Decent little stop for my 11 year old. He loved the “cellar experience”, the 3D glasses used for some of the display pictures, bullets preserved in trees that had been cut down, the brief movie, and the hollowed out “witness tree”. It’s primarily a perspective of the battle from the residents of Gettysburg. The impact on the town, and the aftermath. It has enough historical elements and artifacts of the actual battle, but not nearly to the degree you’ll find at the main visitor center run by the NPS. It is a nice supplement, and a different spin on the battle, though. Pro tip: The gift shop also offers some of the same souvenirs as the main center, but for a couple dollars less per item.

We booked the 4 hour Battlefield Tour with Jasan. He was a wonderful guide. He took us through the battle as we changed locations. We all learned so much and enjoyed every minute.
