Overview
How did the Battle of Gettysburg affect the small bustling town, & the people who called it home? As you travel through the Heritage Center, discover what life was like before, during and after the battle. This story of courage & turmoil is told through engaging 3-D videos, interactive displays, text panels containing excerpts from letters & diaries, artifacts & memorabilia.  The popular, "Cellar Experience," is included in the tour.  Experience what it was like for the townspeople who were confined to their basements, listening as the battle was fought around them. The tour concludes with the Award-Winning movie, "Gettysburg: Animated Map," which was produced by the Civil War Trust. The movie, which covers the three days of fighting, is a good orientation & overview on the battle. Bordering the Gettysburg National Military Park battlefield, the Heritage Center is an educational & entertaining experience for families and groups of all ages. Allow 1-2 hours.

We never went. We ended up at the big museum near the battlefield. I couldn’t find my confirmation to see where I was supposed to go. It would’ve been very nice to have the text from you yesterday instead of just getting a request for response today.

I am sorry to hear that there was confusion about your visit. We are working with Viator and Tripadvisor to try to clear up the confusion between our Heritage Center, and the Military Park Visitor Center. Unfortunately, the text messages are automated through TripAdvisor, and we as businesses do not have the ability to control them. If you are able, please reach out to me and I will gladly issue a refund for your unused tickets. My email is [email protected]. Thank you! Stephanie

Guess I was expecting the actual Gettysburg welcome center. This not it. A nice exhibit on how the townspeople experienced the battle but not what the website makes it out to be.

I am sorry to hear that there was confusion about the ticket. I am working with Viator and Tripadvisor to sort out the confusion between our museums. It appears that somehow they merged our two experiences, creating confusion for the visitors. Please feel free to reach out to me about your visit, and am happy to see what I can do about your tickets. I can be reached at [email protected] Thank you! Stephanie

Very reasonable admission fee. Interactive displays and life like exhibits. A brief film is worth it to see. Plenty of parking behind the building.
