Mobile Carnival Museum
The museum highlights the history of Mardi Gras in its true birthplace in America - Mobile, Alabama. Experience royalty in a restored mansion-majestic crowns, scepters and one-of-a-kind bejeweled robes. Get a behind the mask look at the street party and floats. Youths can become a costumed rider in the Little Mystics Den. Boutique Gift shoppe. Guided tours at 9:30 am, 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. Others tours self-guided and automated via smart phone. Free Wifi.

Who knew there was so much to see regarding Mardi Gras? Floats, costumes, ball gowns, crowns, art, photographs... A true must see. We learned so much about the history of Mardi Gras and Mobile, and all those beautiful gowns, wow!

A wonderful museum. Great history and stunning exhibits. You will not believe the detailed costumes. Very interesting and not to be missed if in the area. Great staff. A special shout out to Toni in the gift shop. She's very sociable & knowledgeable.

We were prepared for a quick visit and got engaged in a long fascinating tour by Docent Rick. We were amazed at the costumes, art, and photos. The story of Mardi Gras in Mobile was so beautifully presented in this gem of a museum.
