Skunk Train: Pudding Creek Express from Fort Bragg

Overview
This relaxed and scenic 7-mile roundtrip journey departs the Depot in downtown Fort Bragg year-round, traveling along the beautiful Pudding Creek Estuary and passing into primeval ancient redwoods to the tranquil setting of Glen Blair Junction.

Trains will stop at Glen Blair Junction for 15 minutes, allowing you to get off and stretch your legs and explore. Or, if you’d like to spend more time walking our trails amongst the redwoods, you can remain and catch the next train (roughly two hours later). Plenty of time to explore. Feel free to bring a packed lunch (no alcohol, please) to enjoy at one of our picnic tables.

These were some of the first tracks ever laid down by the California Western Railroad in 1885, and we've been carrying passengers on them ever since.

While the History of the train was cool and the nostalgia. I felt as if I had lit a hundred dollars on fire for two tickets. The trip was extremely short and not much to see other than over grown bushes. I've been visiting Fort Bragg since I was born for vacation with my family. I'm now in my 40s and finally found the time to ride the train. It was a complete let down.

First time visiting Fort Bragg area in July, this is definitely a must stop. The scenery and overall experience was very refreshing. Train is well kept considering its history, this is an activity my whole family can enjoy even with teenagers. I would recommend to go to the open platform for the duration of the ride.

This experience was most disappointing. Was mis-represented. All you got was a short ride on a regular diesel engine. With uncomfortable seats. No service. No skunk train. There’s nothing world famous. Or even special. About this experience. By the way and very expensive considering what we got. A tourist trap in the worst sense of the word. Not recommended.
