Alaska Sled Dogs & Musher's Camp
Your journey begins with an entertaining historic tour from your knowledgeable guide through downtown Skagway and along nine miles of stunning coastline to our Musher’s Camp™ in Dyea. Next, hop into our specialized unimog for an exciting ride up our rugged mountain road, surrounded by glacially fed streams and waterfalls. At the top, your musher will greet you with a custom-designed wheeled summertime sled and a team of very excited Alaskan Huskies! Feel the power of these strong dogs as they whisk you down a mile-long, zig-zagging trail deep in the Tongass National Rainforest! After meeting your dog team, climb back into your unimog and enjoy the adventurous ride to a breathtaking overlook of the Dyea tidal flats. Depending on the month you just might see eagles, bears, seals, horseback riders, wild flowers, and of course snow-capped mountains. Your unimog will then bring you to what we like to call a “Kennel Talk.” We have been sharing our passion for dog sledding for years, and in that time we have gathered up the most frequently ask questions about the sport. In the Kennel Talk, we will share the fascinating answers and welcome any additional questions you may have. Of course, we make sure you have plenty of time to play with our puppies! Your affections actually socialize these future athletes, which is essential to their racing success. A crackling fire and a unique gift shop round out your visit. All of this in a spectacular Alaskan setting!

This is what I call a 3 in 1 tour. First you get to ride a bus that takes you around beautiful views of the Alaska forest with a guide that narrates about the history of the place. We even saw a black bear on our way and the driver even stop for us to see it and take pictures. Then when you arrived to the camp you ride a monster truck that takes you up where the dogs are. Where you get to ride the dog sled. Then you get to pet the dogs and go back in the monster truck that then stop in a beautiful view where you can take pictures. And last but not least you can go where the puppies are and pet them as well. I really enjoyed this tour and really recommend it

If you love dogs as we do, this is the excursion for you. Our guide, Jenna, drove us to the musher’s camp. When we arrived, we boarded a Unimog and were driven up a mountain to enjoy the Alaskan Huskies and a ride on a wheeled sled pulled by a team of 16 Huskies. The ride was absolutely exhilarating! After our ride, we were transported to where the Huskies live. 6 month old Husky puppies were there for us to hold and play with. It was a wonderful experience.
