Rene was our guide was awesome; very informative and funny! The kids 10 and 15 really loved the swamp tour. We saw a ton of alligators and riding the air boat was fun. We went to two plantations afterward, Laura and Houmas house. The tours of there was also excellent - very interesting and lots of great history. Lunch was good as well. This tour is a great way to see 2 plantations and a swamp tour all in one day. It was all broken up into 1-1.5 hour chunks so the kids stayed engaged. Highly recommend this tour.

We just returned from our tour and it was FANTASTIC!!!! We started with an airboat ride from Ragin’ Cajun Airboats and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more! Our guide, Dylan, was so knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife and holding the baby alligator was so amazing! He also had a great sense of humor and was an excellent navigator of the waterways. Next, we were on to Laura Plantation where our guide, Renee, really knew her stuff and made history come alive. When talking about the plantation owners and slave women relationships and the treatment of the children of these relationships, made me think a little differently about this part of history. Great job, Renee! From there, it was off to Houma House, a gorgeous plantation home with incredible gardens and beautiful birds everywhere! (Seeing the peacock up close and personal was really cool.). However, before our tour, we were treated to an incredible buffet lunch there consisting of regional fair such as gumbo, crawfish etouffe, and bread pudding. The red beans and sausage, the corn, and the chili chicken were to die for. Our guide for the tour, Susanna, was a delight. She told us about all the quirky rules and traditions of the day (girls, don’t show your ankles and guys, don’t look unless you want a wife) as well as teaching us about the history of this beautiful home. She answered any question we threw her way and the entire tour was a blast. But, by far, the best thing about the day was our van driver and overall tour guide, John. From the get go, his unique personality, knowledge of the area, excellent sense of humor, and total graciousness toward everyone in our group told me we were in for an awesome day. I so enjoyed his stories, especially the one about taking his wife hunting on the roadway, and so enjoyed learning more about him and the area over lunch. He took pictures of my family and the entire group throughout the day and sent them via text before we got back home. That is definitely above and beyond the service I expected. It was also cool getting to meet people from Colorado, North Carolina. And even England in our group. I have taken a lot of tours in my day but this was definitely the best and well worth the money!

My day started off with Stephen picking me up at my hotel. He was very knowledgeable about New Orleans. We made our way to the airboats. It was fun, but comparing it to the Everglades, it wasn’t as good. The airboat guide did not help anyone on or off the boat. I thought that to be a little dangerous. Next we were off to Laura Plantation. Our guide there, Lindie, was awesome. She is a teacher and she knew her stuff!! If you visit here , try to get her as your guide. I loved the way she “taught” you. Next we went to Houmas House. The food, hounds, the house is just beautiful. I enjoyed the tour. Stephen was a wonderful driver and I enjoyed him as my tour guide.
