Jonathan was great! I was worried a little about this trip being 12 hours long but it is well worth it. The tour through Volcanoes National Park and seeing the glow at night was amazing. Please note, you do not see active lava flow on these tours or any that I could find for that matter. Our tour guide said that it is very hard to access but I also don't think some of the tour descriptions out there are very clear.

The tour was great. Learned many things from the guide that we could not have figured out on our own. The guide did an excellent job of keeping us informed during the tour and kept the tour moving. He interjected many cultural items. I would recommend this to anyone.

We had a perfect day! Jeff was our tour guide and he provided so much information it was hard to absorb it all. Our stops were timed so we had plenty of chances to get out and stretch opportunities for walks that weren't too far but got us close to many fantastic sights. Stops included Rainbow Falls, a park with Green Sea Turtles, and an Orchid farm. We spent several hours in the Volcano National Park, walking on lava fields, watching the ocean waves hit against the wall of lava, walking through a lava tube and of course the climax, seeing hot lava at night. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about volcanoes and the Big Island!
