Small Group Boat, Kayak and Walking Guided Eco Tour in Everglades National Park

Overview
This very popular eco-adventure and combines the best of a boat tour, a kayak tour and a walking tour in a single great learning experience. Depending on the season, you can encounter manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, roseate spoonbills and/or numerous species of fish and shore birds. A very comfortable transport boat will bring you deep into Everglades National Park with your Florida Master Naturalist guide. Once at the first destination, the tour slows down using very stable, comfortable kayaks to get you close to the flora and fauna. Imagine paddling next to a manatee or a dolphin! (No previous kayaking experience is required and there are single and two-person kayaks on every tour). Continue your interpretive experience with a walking tour on remote, pristine barrier island beach … a beach that is seldom visited by others.

This salt water eco kayak tour is a MUST DO with any Everglades visit. Starting out in a boat, we were able to see interesting birds and had fun seeing dolphins(some of whom surfed in our boat wake), then Don gave us an amazing beach tour teaching us fascinating facts about all of the shells, crabs, and other sealife on the beach, then we took kayaks to another beautiful beach where the Calusa Indians lived hundreds of years ago. A truly fantastic morning adventure!

We had an exceptional experience touring the Everglades with Don, our guide at the helm. We were immediately greeted by a pod of dolphins, had amazing looks of constantly streaming American White Pelicans coming into roost at low tide, and over 20 species of local avian life. Don was incredibly knowledgeable of the history, flora, and fauna of the area, and was incredibly accommodating to those of us who wished to take photos, deftly guiding the boat as close as was possible. We would highly recommend this tour, and our only regret is not bringing our young son with us!

The overall trip was nice. Customers should be made aware. In your companies policy (NOT PARK LAW) about the shelling experience. There is NO KEEPING OF SHELLS !! No one in my group knew this until we off loaded on the beach. Then the guide told us you can't keep any shells. Please put this in your website advertisement. It will take all the disappointment out of the customers that were expecting to pickup and keep a few mementos.

We are glad that you enjoyed the experience. This is wonderful part of our planet. However, you are mistaken about the Park regulations. The National Park Service forbids removing ANYTHING from Everglades National Park, further they specifically forbid the taking of shells. The Park use to allow the harvesting of shells, but this was changed five to six ago. If you were on a beach, you were on either the Everglades National Park Boat Assisted Kayak Eco Tour or the Everglades National Park Expedition. Both are eco-educational tours and part of our certification by the Florida Society for Ethical Ecotourism … no shelling is advertised. If shelling is your mission, you should take one of MarcoIsland-BoatTours trips. They are quite good.
