Join Coastal Kayak Charters for a small group guided kayak tour of the Shell Key Preserve. We are St Pete's top rated kayak tour company and focus exclusively on small groups and private tours. Our trips offer more personalized service and better wildlife viewing opportunities while out on the water. We will explore hidden mangrove tunnels (tides permitting), shallow seagrass meadows, and stop on Shell Island for time to swim, look for shells, or just relax and enjoy the beach. Our tours are designed for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. We use stable user friendly kayaks that provide a great paddling experience. We primarily use double kayaks unless you have an odd number in your group. If you prefer single kayaks they are available through our website. Come explore with local professionals who love what they do and see the difference for yourself.

What's Included

All Equipment, Instruction & Dry Bags. Primarily Double Kayaks, singles available through website.

**Weight Limit** 250lbs per seat | 450lbs combined for double kayaks.

*Ages 3+ | 3-12 must be in a double kayak with an adult or older child.

*Please arrive to launch site 30min early, there are no public facilities available at site.

This kayak tour was the highlight of our trip to Florida! My kids are 15 and 9 and both had a great time. We were impressed with the wildlife, especially the dolphins and jellyfish. Shell island was beautiful. There was just the right amount of structure and flexibility to the trip and the guide was super fun!

This was about a 3 hr excursion which includes 30 minutes on a beautiful beach at Shell key. I went with my husband and 2 teenage daughters. They offer single or tandem kayaks. End up paddling 4.5 miles but was not difficult, mostly go at a leisurely pace. Tour guide was so nice and knowledgeable. Overall amazing experience.

What a great day exploring shell island on kayaks! It’s not always easy to find a family activity that everyone enjoys (kids ages 16 and 10) . This was just that! Don’t hesitate, book it and enjoy!
