We had a great time swimming with the manatees! Dustin and Memphis were terrific captains and manatee scouts. Very much enjoyed the experience!

See other reviews for how awesome the actual swimming with manatees is. This is just the summary of why our trip was great: - I highly recommend small group tour for people with small kids. The price difference is not that large and it allows your guides to focus on small kids that will need extra attention. Also, the kids slow you down and the small group experience is very unrushed, compensating for that. Plantation uses 5mm wetsuits that give your kids extra warmth and let you all stay in the water longer. Their masks are new and clear. - Captains Lance and Ross are very knowledgeable and fun to hang out with. Lance, who was with us in the water, took phenomenal care of our 7 year old daughter. In a pretty massive crowd from all the boats he was invariably with her in the most interesting spot. That said, he also took very good care of the adults in the group. The river is pretty crowded with all the snorkelers and I could see the stark difference with other, especially large groups. - Lance also used his GoPro to take multiple really good short videos and some stills. You get the DVD for $30 which is very decent for the US (I was bracing for $50-70, and given my daughter's excitement I really had no choice but buy it anyway). Overall would highly recommend to do it with the kids. One of the best family experiences ever.

We had Captain Lance and Captain Ross for our tour and they were very knowledgable about manatees and the marine life in the area. They had great stories about previous tours and encounters with manatees. We had so much fun that we are planning to come back again for this tour!
