Small-Group Sailing Tour in Daytona Beach

Overview

We operate the only sailing catamaran available for "public" and "private" sailing/sightseeing excursions in the Daytona Beach area. Our Seawind 1000 is a beautifully designed Austrailian built catamaran with comfortable shaded seating in our saloon area, seats that literally hang out "over the water" on the aft deck, and comfortable seating in the open air on our forward deck along with "trampolines" that are just above the water for sunbathing with an occasional splash to cool down. Restroom facilities are also onboard for your convenience!

Disappointed that this was on the Halifax river and that we motored out and back in and no sailing was done. Felt the captain should have said something to us about not enough wind so we didn’t have to ask. Not a sailor but it was quite breezy.

Thank you for the review of your tour with us. We operate on the Intracoastal Waterway also known as the Halifax River. The reason we don't operate in the ocean is because in our experience the majority of guests will get seasick. That is not fun for anyone. The wind on our tour that day was around 7 mph. This is not enough to power a sailboat at any reasonable speed. We raise sail on "every" tour but on some days we need the motors to assist. This is called "motorsailing" and is a common sailing technique!

Small group. Not to windy. Saw dolphins, very relaxing. Would repeat at a later date. 90 min is a quick trip. Would like a longer trip.

I have to agree with a couple of the other reviews….not much more than just a slow motor boat ride down the river. Randy, the pilot could have made it a little more interesting with some interaction…..some music with speakers outside at the least. Thank goodness the weather was good!! Will not do this trip again. Sorry I took company on the trip…should have tried it first on our own.
