Immensely enjoyed my evening workshop with David. I learned a great deal and being together for 6+ hours gave me plenty of time to practice and ask for critiques. Tip: be sure to bring a small notebook. There's so much to learn while photographically exploring Oak Creek, the Red Rocks and night sky...all in one workshop!

My wife gave me the Journey in Common Workshop for my birthday and it was one of the best gifts I have ever received. David is a great instructor and more importantly he cares that you leave with great pictures that you can proudly display framed on your walls to show your family and friends and teaches you how to capture the best image possible. He spends a lot of time on the creative aspect of photography which now makes sense to me who really spent to much time on the technical aspects. The best lessons you will learn from the workshop are what to consider when you are composing your images, how to expose and capture the best light, how to groom the site to make your pictures the best they can be, use of ND Filters to create dramatic water effects and how to enjoy the process of making great pictures. I got to spend the day with David one on one and it was worth every penny. I learned a great deal from him and got many extraordinary pictures that I could not believe were in my camera after I got to review them all. Thanks to David for all of the great tips and techniques he guided me though during the workshop. After the workshop, I know I will be able to find and shoot better compositions and enjoy photography even more than I ever have. As an instructor, David is calm, patient and he does everything possible to help you learn and enjoy the process of photography as well create incredible pictures. He is also a very experienced photographer with lots of interesting stories he shares along to way that make the day at the workshop fascinating and fun. I would recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to learn how to go from taking pictures in the Automatic or Program modes on their DSLR camera to understanding how to create beautiful images that they can be proud to say they took themselves using the Manual Mode capturing the best pictures they are capable of shooting with their camera. Thanks David for a great day and a great learning experience in your workshop!!
