I went (solo) on the Sedona tour yesterday with our tour guide and driver Tracy G, and it was awesome! I was a little unsure how much the upcoming cold weather and rain would impact the tour, but it seems like Tracy has done this enough times to know which spots to hit depending on the weather. So we ended up getting great sunny pictures of the red rocks just as we pulled into Sedona, beautiful vistas from the Chapel of the Holy Cross as the clouds provided a dramatic backdrop, and just as it started to drizzle and then rain we pulled into the shopping area to browse around and grab lunch (I also got a pretty good psychic reading). For someone who really dislikes rain and the cold, I felt like it didn’t take away that much from the beautiful tour, as it seems every time we pulled into another amazing stop for breathtaking pictures, the weather cooperated (or Tracy just knew where to go!) The sights we saw were absolutely gorgeous and although we were in the bus for longer than we were outside the bus, we were all really taken by the views even while driving along. The tour is long, but Tracy was an absolute gem, and was so friendly! He told us stories about the history of the area and its people, little anecdotes about western movies filmed in the areas, how the red rocks were formed, pointed out all the famous rock formations in the area (snoopy and the submarine, amongst others!) and we even got a brief lesson about succulents and cacti. Overall it was a great introductory tour for someone looking for a day trip outside of Phoenix and for a completely different topography. You can also add on a Pink Jeep tour which takes you into the more rugged areas of the red rocks (during the shopping time), but several tours weren’t running that day, likely due to the weather. But that’s an option if you’re looking for more adventure!

Andy was our tour guide. He was the best! He was humorous and friendly with a wealth of information on the tip of his tongue about anything related to Arizona, from bushes and tress, to animals and insects, to rock formations and word origins. There many stops on the way to Sedona with lots of opportunity for photos. I'm so glad I took this tour.

Hi Sandra… Thank you for coming out on tour with us to Sedona, which is one of our favorites! It was our pleasure to show you the beautiful red rocks, in all their grandeur, in our special way. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the service provided by Andy, as your guide, and that he was able to impart his knowledge of the area to help you make your day with us extra memorable. We hope you’ll come join us for another one of our tours departing from Phoenix or Las Vegas, in the not too distant future.
