Our new heated (during winter), luxury pontoon aims to amp up the manatee sighting and deliver a more personal event! Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

What To Expect

River Ventures

Embark on your journey with a Coast Guard Certified Master Captain who will be your in water chaperon, educator and photographer. Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Our well-informed staff will direct to other local attractions, restaurants and answer of your questions before you are on your way.

Small group of 5 on a pontoon boat with Captain Stark and Jose as our guide. Eventhough it is the off season for viewing Manatees, these two men worked hard to find one for us to swim with. Kudos to Jose for being so knowledgeable and taking extra time to explain everything before we got in the water. The staff at this business was very courteous and professional. I highly recommend using them for your Manatee excursion. My recommendations are; take the first tour of the day, look over the side of the boat and admire how clear the water is and tip these people well because they deserve it. Special thanks from "Colorado" to Captain Stark and Jose for the comfort stop for my wife.

This tour was brilliant and would definitely recommend it. Jose our guide was excellent ,friendly and very attentive and our Captain John Stark was great.They made sure we saw lots of manatees even a baby with its mother. An absolutely amazing experience.

We are a relatively newly married couple who have been coming to visit Florida for several years now - but we have not had an experience anything like this! From having a 1,600lbs manatee swimming inches below you, to being invited to play by manatee calfs, to watching mothers nursing their calfs - it was extraordinary. Tom and Jose are super-stars. Jose's enthusiasm and skill with the underwater camera has given us memories we will cherish for a life time. And Tom's ability to find the manatees made the magic happen. We have already sent our family and booked our next trip and can't wait!
