Our new heated (during winter), luxury pontoon aims to amp up the manatee sighting and deliver a more personal event! Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

What To Expect

River Ventures

Embark on your journey with a Coast Guard Certified Master Captain who will be your in water chaperon, educator and photographer. Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Our well-informed staff will direct to other local attractions, restaurants and answer of your questions before you are on your way.

Took the semi private tour for manatee swim. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! Meagan and John were fantastic. They know what's up... for sure! We went during hot weather so there are not hundreds of manatees. Have realistic expectations and be patient... this isn't a zoo or animals in enclosures... this is out in the wild... but as my daughter said...freakin awesome! Amazing creatures and a top notch tour company... they should be 5 stars because anyone that rated them anything else had unrealistic expectations. Nice job river ventures... you guys are the real deal and a respectful company providing knowledge and conservation! Great pictures and super affordable. We will definitely be back

Megan and John are consummate professionals with the best in mind for both the manatees and for their visitors! We appreciate you noticing our dedication to being professional while fun, and educational while adventurous! It's a fine line that we try to walk. We believe that seeing nature first hand, is so different than learning about these animals in a book. Really the close-up encounters are priceless! We already did this tour last year in July. It was so great we decided to book the tour again. we startet at the shop with a short movie how to behave in case of seeing/finding Manatee. as July is not the best time to swimm with Manatees we always saw at least 3 or more of them and also baby-manatees. Really an undescribable experience. The crew know exactly where to find them and we were 4 People and we were allone on the boat. we saw 5 of them and 2 babies. Megan, the tourguide took incredible picture for un unforgetable time. THANKS to that. And we were very lucky we also saw a dolphin. Great time, any time again...
