Our new heated (during winter), luxury pontoon aims to amp up the manatee sighting and deliver a more personal event! Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

What To Expect

River Ventures

Embark on your journey with a Coast Guard Certified Master Captain who will be your in water chaperon, educator and photographer. Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Our well-informed staff will direct to other local attractions, restaurants and answer of your questions before you are on your way.

We went in the summer so we were not sure if we would get to see many manatees or any at all. However, Capt Stark pointed the way and Megan was a fantastic guide. It was so fun, our kids loved it and we even got to see a baby up close! Highly recommend Capt Stark and Megan.

We would like to firstly say thank you to Jose and Emerson for a truly magical experience today. The whole team are very thorough and clearly passionate about educating the visitors and protecting a magnificent mammal of the Crystal River. This isn't a fairground as they quiet rightly say.....this is about seeing wild animals in their own environment and understanding the need to protect them. Jose was a fantastic guide and helped us all see these majestic animals at their best. My daughter was slightly anxious about the experience but he was very good at encouraging her but she and her friend thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was one of those experiences that will forever leave its mark in your heart and your memory. I 100% recommend the VIP tour as it's a small group, and if like us you share it with great people (couple from Atlanta) you will buy be disappointed.

2nd Trip with River ventures. Staff is very friendly and helpful all the guides and captains are excellent. A big shout out to you Matt and Tom on the last trip we took. I would highly recommend this company to anybody looking to take a trip and go swim with the manatees or go scalloping. They made sure to put us on manatees and we didn’t leave without scallops. It is always your choice of what you want to do and how to spend your time. P.s. Matt and Tom need a river ventures logo on their boat. A manatee with green hair, a red t shirt, and cool beard!
