Our new heated (during winter), luxury pontoon aims to amp up the manatee sighting and deliver a more personal event! Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

What To Expect

River Ventures

Embark on your journey with a Coast Guard Certified Master Captain who will be your in water chaperon, educator and photographer. Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Our well-informed staff will direct to other local attractions, restaurants and answer of your questions before you are on your way.

We have done the tours with this group several times but this year was above and beyond great. Megan was the in water guide and is a manatee whisperer. Mike was the captain and kept it fun and entertaining. We had some great time with the newest baby “Chewy” aka Tom Brady as he warmed up to us and joined our circle greeting each one of us. He is beautiful with gorgeous blue eyes that allows you to feel he has connected with you. I can’t suggest this company enough.

A-one all the way. First easy to find. Our group of 4 was met at the office the staff was vey friendly and helpful. We were shown a brief video and narration of what to expect. We were then sized for wetsuit (you will need it). Then we were boarded onto a van for a short ride to pier. Only about 5 minutes. Crystal our guide and John the boat captain were very friendly and helpful. We were given plenty of time to swim with the manatees, we were not rushed thru as many tours are. We moved to a couple of areas to keep us on manatees. At end we were return to office to change. Just so you know they have changing rooms and restroom there. We highly recommend this to everyone. No hard swimming basically you just float and dog paddle. We all loved it. We had the 9:15 am time. At the end we were starved. They told us about Seafood Seller Restaurant right across the road. It as delicious. Thanks again to the great staff .

Had a great day with the family. Tom and Jose did a great job showing us the manatee. A few adults and a mother and calf. Tom had a lot of history and facts about the crystals river area and wildlife. We could not have ask for a better guide then Jose. Very enthusiastic and excellent at his job.
