Our new heated (during winter), luxury pontoon aims to amp up the manatee sighting and deliver a more personal event! Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

What To Expect

River Ventures

Embark on your journey with a Coast Guard Certified Master Captain who will be your in water chaperon, educator and photographer. Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Our well-informed staff will direct to other local attractions, restaurants and answer of your questions before you are on your way.

3/6/19 Our visit was a mother/daughter trip. This was also a bucket list item for me (Mom). Everyone was super friendly and helpful upon arrival. We were blessed to have Laura as our boat captain and Sheena as our guide. They provided the most awesome experience. We went to the main area and the 3 sisters. We were able to see manatees at both. I even got a manatee kiss at the main. It was wonderful to see these amazing creatures in their habitat. I was so happy to see the respect that your crew has for these sweet creatures and their environment. My daughter and I both will never forget our experience. Thank you so much! Love from Texas.

Troy and JJ were the best! Courteous, fun, informational and entertaining. They were always on the lookout for the best opportunity to get up close and personal with the manatees. And they succeeded! It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. We highly recommend these two guys at River Ventures for your tour! We will definitely come back!

What an awesome day! Not only did a baby manatee lock eyes with me (we were snorkeling), but he/she nearly kissed me! And to make it even better, Jose got it all on camera! We decided to spend a little more for the VIP tour and it was well worth it. I highly recommend River Ventures and particularly the VIP tour. In addition to the close up and personal experience with the manatees we were surprised that snacks and beverages (even some adult beverages) were provided, and much appreciated as we worked up an appetite.
