Our new heated (during winter), luxury pontoon aims to amp up the manatee sighting and deliver a more personal event! Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

What To Expect

River Ventures

Embark on your journey with a Coast Guard Certified Master Captain who will be your in water chaperon, educator and photographer. Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Our well-informed staff will direct to other local attractions, restaurants and answer of your questions before you are on your way.

Amazing experience! Trish and Wade were fantastic, would highly suggest. We found the knowledgeable, friendly, respectful of the animals and able to get us in a position to have an optimal experience viewing them in their own habitat. While just my wife and I, would certainly like to bring the kids to experience this sometime.

We did the tour with Trisha and Captain Wade. We were a group of 4 people and started at 6.30 in the morning. Trisha was very passionate and explained everything we needed to know. I had the feeling the we were the least invasive group when we arrived at the spot. We were very lucky as a cold front pushed through the day before and we saw many manatees. They seemed very relaxed and playful around us. Perfect tour we really enjoyed it! Thank you so much Trisha and Wade!

River Ventures receives 5 STARS for a reason. They are the absolute best! Such an incredible experience!!! JJ and Captain Troy are kind, knowledgeable, and so fun! We saw several manatee in several locations, from the boat, swimming along side them, watching a baby play with our anchor rope & seeing them hang out at the "scratching post". This company truly puts their guests along with the safety of the manatee first. Originally scheduled for another date, we received a call letting us know that unfortunately, the weather conditions were not good for the manatee. That they would like to reschedule instead of us waste our day not being able to truly experience the manatee. I am SO glad they called and we rescheduled. Today was one for the memory books... Thank you River Ventures, JJ and Troy!
