Our experience with the Wasabi Tour was excellent. Our tour guide, Chris was great. He was very laid back, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. He used his background of geology and education to enhance our tour. He knew a lot about the history of Hawaii, local places, and even gave a small grammar lesson on the language. We went to many places that really highlighted the beauty of Hawaii-Waipio Valley and the many different waterfalls-rainbow falls, akaka falls and the botanical garden. Because of the closure of the volcano park, we got to go to some other places that are not typically on the tour. We got to see some of the lava caves and make a quick stop for some shaved ice. Overall it was a wonderful, fantastic experience, my only suggestion is to use some bug spray if going to the botanical gardens and to definitely wear shoes since there is a lot of walking and stairs.

Waipio Valley guide was awesome and very informational; Waterfalls; Lunch; Views; and professionalizm was more than I could of asked for; But the best part was our guide Darian Dreu Basaldua (Dreu) - He was full of information; knowledge; funny; and cared about each one of us in the bus. I recommend this tour ten times over - this company is awesome. Thank you for making our stay on the Big Island!

The tour was a little overpriced compared to what I was expecting after looking at their advertised photos and descriptions. We were told we shouldn't swim in the private waterfall because we could get sick from the brown colored water - livestock runoff or something. It was a long 9 hour day of mostly sitting in a van listening to the tour guide talk about his life. I would have rather drove our rental car to Akaka and Rainbow falls ourselves then we would have had more freedom. When you sign up for the tour they ask for you to state any dietary preferences so I said I was vegetarian but they served me chicken and fish...

Aloha, Sorry to hear that you were not happy with your tour. We advertise swimming at the private waterfall is weather permitting due to conditions such as brown or rough water for the safety of our guests. I want to clarify to our future guests that this particular tour actually spends the least amount of time in the van compare to other similar tours. Our guests spend at least 2 hours inside Waipio Valley, 30 minutes at Akaka Falls, about 45 minutes to 1 hour at the private waterfall, and 1 hour at the private fruit farm. The total tour length is about 9 hours. The private farm and waterfall are not accessible to the public since we have special permission from the land/farm owner to visit these locations.
