Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

We are showing awesome (and COVID-safe) wine tours! Vehicles are frequently sanitized. Hand sanitizer on bus. Per CDC transportation guidelines, we recommend guests wear masks on board the tour shuttle. Safe, but still really fun.

Napa Valley

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

I don't have enough great things to say about the experience my boyfriend and I had on our Platypus tour this past December in Napa! Every single detail of the tour was perfect; from the amazing boutique wineries that we visited where we did our tasting with the winery owners or winemakers themselves, to the outstanding service provided by Sherman, the day was just absolutely perfect. We did the 4 winery tour + lunch in Napa. The wineries were quaint with fabulous selections of tastings, and we lucked out with a great group of couples ( all in all there were 10 of us - all strangers in the morning and best friends by the end!) Additionally, the lunch provided was delicious and filling, not to mention the surprise cheese plate that was served in the bus between wineries! On top of all that though, what really made the trip was our guide, Sherman. He went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure every single person was having a great time. When we mentioned we wanted italian food for dinner, he actually made us a reservation for dinner that night. I loved the lunch recipes so much that he sent them to me before the day was even over! He was hospitable and hilarious from the second he picked us up and it really set the tone for the entire day for everyone.

If you do not have much of a sense of humor, and you find yourself on Sherman's tour, you are going to be wondering why everyone around you is giggling throughout the day. He is awesome. This was a great way to visit the smaller wineries in Napa. Melissa was an awesome guide. It was a good amount of people (11). The tour was the perfect way to get unique experiences all the wineries and it felt like a private tour. My favorite spot was MerryVale.

I am the President of Napa Wildlife Rescue, the only group in Napa that rescues, rehabilitates and releases wildlife back into the wild. Platypus Tours supported us recently in an event that partnered with Shafer Vineyards. They donated a great vehicle that was driven by the owner. They service was superb in and of itself, and was a highlight for the event, which included a tour and wine tasting at Shafer. They couldn't have been better. I recommend them for any size tour.
