Having visited both Bilbao (superb building with loads to see) and Venice locations, we had high hopes for NYC.there were a couple of floors which were in between exhibitions so the admission fee was reduced to reflect this. However the Two floors which were open were pretty disappointing - not many exhibits and what was on show was ‘Meh’. A couple of Picassos and a Cezane. Compared to MoMa which we visited the day before,it’s a no contest-MoMa is brilliant-absolutely choc full of art, installations, film, sculptures . Sadly it’s not the done thing in the art world to ask for your admission fee back…

This is an iconic New York building with the famous circular style of the main room. The museum was in the process of updating exhibitions when we visited so the number of exhibits was limited and you could not walk up and down the spiral walkway. The ticket price had been reduced to reflect this and it was still worth a visit. There is a cafe and a very good gift shop.

Big disappointment! At present do not waste your time here. Three out of 5 floors are closed. Cannot even walk down the circular ramps which is a main point of this museum. Only one exhibit on one of the open floors. Only redeeming factor was the portrait gallery. Not worth your time or the admission price
