It was too cold and rainy to take the trolley so Paul picked us up in a luxury van. We went to Larson Family Wine and was mesmerized by the all the knowledge of Lou and loved the 3 labs. We went next to the Buena Vista Winery and loved the wine and our tour with Brandon. We had a delicious lunch there provided by The Girl and the Fig. We then went to Valley of the Moon and were honestly underwhelmed after 2 great stops. We ended at Mayo Winery where we had some amazing reds. Would take the trip with Paul again anytime.

I booked this vine tour because we liked the idea of being driven in this open car around beautiful Sonoma, seemed like an adventure. In addition we wanted to learn more about the area, the vines and vineries. When I booked the tour it was clear that above and beyond the $99 cost of the tour, you must pay for each tasting, seemed acceptable if quality is appropriate. After we kicked of we immediately had the first stop where we learned more more about the history of Sonoma and California Republic (we are from Switzerland). From there we visited the Imagery vineyards. It was first such vine tasting experience and I did enjoy it, felt a bit rushed though. This vine tasting was included in the price. Then we went to Benzinger Vineyards where we had to pay vine tasting as well as the tram ride. I actually enjoyed the tram ride a lot, to be in the middle of the vineyard and here more about organic farming, challenges and the harvest. For me this stop was the best. At Benzinger we had picnic lunch, and reading some of the reviews here praising the lunch, I can't stop wondering. Our food was barely edibble, some tasteless sandwich in an old, dry focaccia, I nabbed a bit on the salad though. The next one was Paradise Ridge and the facility was not very nice a small room next to the road, no vinery or, nature feeling at all. However, the tasting was great as it was vine and chocolate with herbs pairing, enjoyed it a lot. Last stop, I do not remember the name, some Italian-like place, not worth the money and in my opinion we stayed far too long. Now about the trolley: we enjoyed the ride, although at times it felt somewhat dangerous, as the driver was driving very fast and the whole vehicle is open. Except for the small introduction in Sonoma, no other information was provided and lastly, as mentioned above the lunch was horrible. Bottom line is we paid $99 per person to be coached around to 4 vineries and to get some dry tasteless sandwiches with salad for lunch. In addition we spent more than $200 for the tastings. In my opinion the tour is too expensive for what you get.

Thank you for you response. . The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley is a one of a kind ride though the vineyards. It has a competitive price and the tastings at the wineries are a great discount for us.. If you can show me a trolley tour or any tour that is similar to ours in sonoma at a cheaper price I will refund your fees
