Scottsdale’s 2020-2021 #1 ranked TripAdvisor outdoor activity. Our rigorous Sunset Desert Jeep Tour is a bumpy off-road sightseeing tour through the scenic Jeep trails of the Tonto National Forest, north of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Experience a world-famous Arizona sunset (weather dependent) as our professional tour guides teach you about the Sonoran desert flora, fauna, and Native American history. At sunset, we will stop at our panoramic lookout point overseeing the historic Great Western Trail.

This is a public tour (not private). Public tour vehicles: Modified open-air vertical-row (sideways) seating Jeep Gladiator (14 seats) and Jeep YJ (7 seats).

Total duration of this tour ranges from 2 to 3 hours depending on the time of year. Confirm the exact end time with your tour guide before the tour.

Off-Road Jeep Adventures is a special recreation permit-holder through the U.S. Department of Agriculture: Cave Creek Ranger District.

There is an individual weight limit of 275 lbs

Tonto National Forest

Our permitted Tonto National Forest trails are connected to North Scottsdale, Arizona. The trailhead is located 15 minutes northeast of our operations office.

Pinnacle Peak Park

Pinnacle Peak is a scenic 3,169 foot granite summit located in North Scottsdale, Arizona

Our Jeep off road tour was the perfect way to start our vacation. We’re in our mid seventies but still enjoy a little adventure. John, our tour guide couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. He was very knowledgeable about the area, particularly the flora, fauna and cactus. John was an excellent drive and knew how to navigate through rough terrain with rocks and water puddles. The Jeep itself was a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be driving over such bumpy terrain. John got us to the top of the mountain at the perfect time to see a spectacular 360 view overlooking the Sonoran desert, in time to watch the most spectacular sunset. John was a lot more savvy than us with taking iPhone photos and took some gorgeous photos with our phone. I highly recommend this tour!

We ended up getting a private tour with Grace she's Amazing! She was so friendly & knowledgeable about everything in the forest area,it was like our friend was taking us out on a fun ride around. She gave us recommendations on places she thought we'd like to eat and visit while we're here. AND she was like our own personal photographer, we got beautiful pictures, which is really nice when your a couple and don't get many pictures from your trip. We can't wait to come back & bring our daughters! Thanks Grace!

Had a wonderful time with my wife on the tour. Paul did a great job narrating and driving on the trail. A great activity to do if traveling to Scottsdale.
