Was looking for stuff to do with the sister-in-law in town. Wife suggested we do a segway tour. Found a groupon and booked a Sunday 1:00 pm slot. First off - don't trust the google maps location. Took us too far down a dirt road where it started to get bumpy and I realized I'd probably already passed the start point. As soon as you turn into fort McDowell, keep a look out for a trailer that has Segway tours painted on it. This was the only bad part of the trip for me - they should really put up a sign. Once I'd located the correct place however, Ray (or Rae?) was there to greet us, and she was great. Very friendly, and we spent the first half hour practicing how to segway in a field. After that it was off into the desert! We did a few stops, and the weather was great in March - I suspect any later and it would have been too hot. I touched a cactus and got a spine stuck in my finger but Ray was well prepared, and had a magnifying glass and tweezers to take the darn spine out. Plus the guided tour was decent, and we learned a lot. The scenery was great, and riding the segways off road was fun! Sister-in-law, wife and I enjoyed it immensely - more than other adventure outings we've been to lately. Would recommend.

Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide than Dan. He was so knowledgeable about the area and its flora and fauna; it pays to go around with a former teacher! We had ridden Segways before but never over that sort of terrain and it was a ton of fun.

We had Rhoda as our guide. She was great and very informative! We had such a good time and learned so much. Highly recommend this Segway tour! This was my 5th time on a Segway but my first time going off-road. It was a nice change.
