Our tour operates by special permit on the Fort McDowell Native American Reservation and takes place off the beaten path on beautiful desert trails located near the Verde River at the base of Four Peaks Mountain. The Segway is perfect for the terrain and relaxed atmosphere of the Sonoran Desert. It allows you to experience the desert first-hand and offers the best wind-in-your-hair adventure to share with your friends and family!! It’s an experience that everyone will remember forever!! Your guide will provide you with information about the Yavapai Nation, as well as the unique flora and fauna you are seeing – everything from the great saguaros to bald eagles and wild horses!!

What To Expect

Fort McDowell

The Segway allows you to view the desert flora and fauna without all the encumbrances of vehicle windows and doors. The Segway will ensure a safe smooth ride over the native caliche earth while enjoying the beautiful sites of Giant Saguaro Cactus

We went on a family desert Segway tour and had a great time. Our guides were very knowledgable and fun to hang out with. Some of us had never been on a Segway, but we picked it up quick and had no problems. Cruising though the desert was a once in a lifetime experience. This is a must do in Arizona.

We took the tour with Adventures Out West and LOVED it!!! Rhonda, our guide was fantastic and so knowledgeable with all the vegetation and history of the area. Beware of the fact that the Hiawatha Road it is on is not labeled... we just found the sign for Fort McDowell Tours and took a lucky left... It was so fun and something I highly recommend!

Thanks to Adventures Out West (the Segway tour folks at Fort McDowell), my first Segway ride was an amazing experience. It has been on my bucket list for awhile and now it will be on my favorite things list! I was nervous about learning how to ride a Segway but within 10 minutes, I already felt like a pro. Our tour guide, "Don Blanco" was the best - funny, patient, helpful, calm, reassuring, and very knowledgeable. The route was spectacular - gorgeous desert scenery and lots of interesting (and amusing) facts along the way. The time just flew, and now I'm hooked. Thanks, Don, for a great bucket list experience.
