Featuring songs from The Drifters, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Four Tops and many more. Soul of Motown has been a Top 5 Rated show in the Smokies for over a decade, and the hits keep on spinning! From the moment the music starts to the triumphant roar of applause in our finale, the cast of Soul of Motown takes you on a journey to when music was more than a beat, it had a message and a mission. “Dine-In” service is available for this performance. Food & Beverage may be ordered for delivery to showroom table seating from the “Dine-In” menu. Food & Beverage is not included in your show ticket pricing.

I attended the Motown Show in 2019. That was an experience I shall never forget. That group connected with the audience more and the vocals were on point. This time the vocals were not as good and the was a disconnect. I was very surprised to see the white women that were singing the “Motown” songs. It felt kind of funny and even a little disrespectful. Don’t know if I will return when I vacation in Gatlinburg.

The Motown roster of artists was and is extremely diverse in race, religion, creed, gender and orientation. Its values were built on the love of music, acceptance and inclusivity. The Soul of Motown show is a celebration of the music and the era, not an "impersonator" show. The Grand Majestic Theater stands behind its mission to provide excellent entertainment regardless of race, gender or orientation and to provide a loving and accepting environment for not only our cast and crew but for our audience as well. We are very proud of our cast and crew who take the stage everyday in the midst of a pandemic and social unrest, to entertain the thousands of guests who are wanting to experience the wonderful Soul of Motown.

Booked Soul of Motown show for 8/21/21. Received a call, a text and an email on day of show explaining the show is cancelled. I don't have any problems with the cancellation, satisfied with the multiple attempts to reach me about the cancelled show. My complaint is I did not get a FULL refund, and I booked directly thru Grand Majestic Theater website. Tried to call Grand Majestic- automated answer, couldn't get an actual person to talk to. Sent an email to PurplePass Ticketing, who services Grand Majestic Theater and billed my credit card- no response. Finally disputed the charge thru my credit card. So, for everyone who booked a cancelled show- check what was refunded back to you and what you actually paid.

The theater regrets the closure due to Covid-19 in August. While credit card and service fees are non-returnable, the theater is currently making its way through the roster of guests to issue refunds for those fees.
