What To Expect

South Kaibab Trail

The South Kaibab Trail is a must-hike trail in Grand Canyon National Park. It was blasted out of the Canyon's sheer walls by the National Park Service in the 1920s, and today offers a dramatic journey to amazing features like Ooh Aah Point, Cedar Ridge and Skeleton Point. On this tour our goal, which is not guaranteed as each group is unique, is Skeleton Point, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch looking down onto the Colorado River and Phantom Ranch far below us. The hike back is arduous, so be ready for a quick descent and a longer return!

The trip was fantastic - best part by far was our AMAZING guide Kasey. She was so knowledgeable about the history and geology of the canyon, the culture of the people, and the trails and monuments. Despite being as fit as a world-class athlete, she read our group's needs perfectly, and guided us through the challenging hike at a perfect pace, with well-timed breaks so that everyone could keep up. And the lunch and snacks she made us were fantastic. She was absolutely A+++. This is a phenomenal day trip for families or groups of friends. Could not have been better.

The best part of our trip was our excellent guide, Jordan, and of course the beautiful scenery. Jordan made our three day hikes so enjoyable and educational. there wasn't a question we asked that he couldn't answer. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We had the time of our life. Our Wildland Trekking adventure was all we expected and more. We will definitely do more hikes in the Grand Canyon and we will absolutely do it with Wildland Trekking Company.
