South Kaibab Trail
The South Kaibab Trail is a must-hike trail in Grand Canyon National Park. It was blasted out of the Canyon's sheer walls by the National Park Service in the 1920s, and today offers a dramatic journey to amazing features like Ooh Aah Point, Cedar Ridge and Skeleton Point. On this tour our goal, which is not guaranteed as each group is unique, is Skeleton Point, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch looking down onto the Colorado River and Phantom Ranch far below us. The hike back is arduous, so be ready for a quick descent and a longer return!

Our guided hike on the South Kaibob Trail was worth every penny. Jeff, our guide, reached out a week before our hike to introduce himself and ask about our interests. The day previous to our hike he reached out again to advise us of changing weather and provide a short list of places where we could pick up extra gear if needed. He arrived prepared for our hike with footgear for icy patches, which we greatly appreciated. During our walk he answered many questions and was knowledgeable about the geology, flora, and wildlife of the Canyon. He was also sensitive to our walking pace and skill level. This was a superb experience. I would recommend Wildland Trekking to anyone.

Our guide Steven did a fabulous job! He was very considerate of our dietary restrictions and he was very patient when we had to slow down our pace. His passion for the canyon was contagious and made learning about it even more enjoyable!

Our guide, Josh was outstanding. We had a great day of hiking a snowy South Kaibab trail in the Grand Canyon. We felt simultaneously safe and overwhelmed by the beauty around us. Thanks, Josh!
