South Kaibab Trail
The South Kaibab Trail is a must-hike trail in Grand Canyon National Park. It was blasted out of the Canyon's sheer walls by the National Park Service in the 1920s, and today offers a dramatic journey to amazing features like Ooh Aah Point, Cedar Ridge and Skeleton Point. On this tour our goal, which is not guaranteed as each group is unique, is Skeleton Point, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch looking down onto the Colorado River and Phantom Ranch far below us. The hike back is arduous, so be ready for a quick descent and a longer return!

The hike was absolutely spectacular! It was a moderate challenge. Having a great guide to give so much of the geology and interesting facts about the canyon just added to the beauty. It was also really nice to have someone to do the prep work to take that hassle off of our plate. It was definitely our favorite part of our vacation!

Jason C. from wildland trekking was a great guide. He provided everything we needed and made us feel extremely comfortable hiking. The snacks were great and the meal after was great too. We learned so much from the guide that we proceeded to do another hike afterwards on our own. This guide is well worth!

Fantastic views all the way down, and up. We just did the 3mile round trip loop to Cedar Ridge. For a family from flat Florida in pretty good shape the elevation was a fun challenge. There are bathrooms at Cedar Ridge, but no running water. We took 8 bottles for 4 people and hydrated prior to hiking. Also refilled the bottles at the trail head. After a short rest we decided to walk the rim trail (paved) back to the visitor center. Encountered several large squirrels and a mule deer. We just walked by and they didnā€™t really seem to care we were there. It was a beautiful day! Bring plenty of water and snacks!
