I strongly suggest doing both the tram tours, they differenziate this from a normal space museum and give you the true experience.

Whether you are taking kids for an outing or just looking for an educational trip, NASA in Houston has to be on your list. This is a great chance to explore the history of NASA’s early days and get up close and personal with real rockets, etc.

The admission have gone up $6 recently even though for almost a year they have been 'refurbing' the mission control room so there is nothing there but some boxes and cones (see picture) - this wouldn't have been a problem if we had been aware of it. If we'd had a choice when we paid $30 each to enter, when we queued for the tram or when we got a lecture before going up to an empty room and then sit to hear a lecture quoting every cliche you know about the moon landing and being asked to use your imagination and take a photo of the photo they had printed up on the way out. Ridiculous. They could have made some more effort...cardboard cutouts of the units or bigger printed photos of it. The screens are still there which is cool but I was too mad to appreciate it. If you want to just see rockets then I'm sure its still cool, but not $30 cool. Lots of people were disappointed but didn't complain, I went back to customer services and was given a full refund with no questions asked which leads me to believe they know what they are doing here and telling people it wasn't there would stop visitors. I'm more mad about the waste of my time than the money. We could have used our 3 hours elsewhere.
