Oddly, out of the (three) City Pass attractions we selected - Needle, Museum of Pop Culture, and Chihuly Garden - the needle was the least favorite - but that said - it is one of those things you have to at least do once. The vistas of the city and surrounding mountains are very nice. The main/top floor gets extremely crowded, but allows you to go outside. The one-level-down from the top has a glass floor which provides its own interesting vista directly below, but its not for anyone with vertigo :)

We arrived at the top of the Space Needle about 30 minutes before sunset. Watching the sunset from there and then watching the city light up as it got dark was a very cool experience. Looking down through the glass floor at night was also cool. The wait in line to get to the elevator to bring us to the top was about 30 minutes long. We had made reservations, but I don't know if that made a difference or not. We went to the Chihuly Glass and Garden the next morning and didn't really know what to expect. We had heard that it was worthwhile to see. I'd call that an understatement. It was kind of mind-blowing. The staff working in the museum was really helpful and knowledgeable, too. I highly recommend! (I think most kids would find it fascinating, but I would not bring any small child who is not well-behaved for fear of breaking something.)

My family and I truly enjoyed visiting both the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens and Glass Museum. I have older teenagers who really thought it was pretty cool to take elevator ride up in the Space Needle you don't need to be there for very long you can write up view the city take a few photos all in about 30 minutes or longer depending on how much you want to stay in view. There is a restaurant atop the space needle it was not open while we were there. After leaving the Space Needle we were able to go to Chihuly Gardens and Glass Museum and I was truly impressed by the artwork and the detail at the garden and the Glass Museum. Visiting the Glass Museum it can take up to about an hour to walk through depending on how fast you want to see things. I suggest you plan some time to also be able to visit the exhibit with a show you how glasses blown that was pretty awesome I think the show lasted about 30 minutes but well worth it get there early and find a spot in the shade. Pretty reasonably priced for four adults.
