My husband and I took our two kids (ages 7 and 10) to Spyscape and we all LOVED it! The 7 year old needed some help for some of the activities, but she was able to do the majority of it on her own. We went at 10am and didn't have to wait for any exhibit or activity. No lines or crowds at all. We've been to the Spy Museum in DC and we all liked this one much better. It's less museum-y, and more focused on activities and experiences. All 4 of us want to go back when we have family in town visiting so we can do it all over again! Highly recommend.

The Spy Museum is an excellent small museum on a specific subject — espionage — that combines authentic historical objects used in deception, encryption, computer hacking and related fields, with terrific interactive elements, including a quiz to determine the person’s aptitude to be a spy. My wife and I took our 10-year old grandson, who had a great time, but we were surprised how much we enjoyed it too. The exhibits on spies who were exposed, such as the FBI agent Rober Hansen, and on the frightening possibilities of computer malware, were very informative and impressive, as were many other exhibits. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The gift shop has an amazingly large collection of books on espionage and lots of interesting spy-related objects in various price ranges.

This was my first visit to Spyscape but my wife came last year and she said there have been many improvements and additions since then. We didn't have nearly enough time to see everything (much less adding the 007 special exhibit) but I really enjoyed the experience. A lot of thought has been put into this place and I really appreciated how timely some of the warnings about surveillance are. A good museum should provoke conversations and I think Spyscape is not only entertaining us with history but also forcing us to ask questions about the world and how we allow our privacy to be compromised.
