St. Augustine Ghost Tour: A Ghostly Encounter

Overview

This is a 90-minute, unscripted walking tour that will take guests deep into St. Augustine’s darker history. Professionally licensed guides share stories passed from one generation to the next about the oldest city’s strange and difficult past. Tours are multi-generational, family friendly and pet friendly. Although guests with mobility limitations will also enjoy the tour, there are some steeets that may present a problem for certain wheelchairs/motorized wheelchairs.

Tours include some history and a lot of mystery. Guides will also provide instructions on how to use ghost hunting tools (which can be rented for $5). Guests are allowed and encouraged to bring along their own ghost hunting tools as well.

Our tour begins and ends at 12 St. George St., St. Augustine Florida. Located next door to the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse.

We had Jan as our tour guide throughout the night. She was wonderful and made the experience exciting. We toured a few different spots and heard some really interesting history and paranormal facts. Jan was kind and really involved with the group. She made sure we were all involved when she spoke, maintained eye contact, and answered any questions we had. There were children present on the tour (Including in my group) and she made sure any harsh details of instances were relayed in a child friendly way, yet, still conveyed the message. The ONLY thing I wish that was different was that she would have worn a mask when getting within six feet of the group, often she asked for volunteers and they would stand within close proximity to her. I must add though, she did say that masks were OPTIONAL on the tour and that if we felt like we should wear them, we could. She allowed plenty of room for social distancing though, so I can’t say anything about that. I will definitely be doing this tour again when I go back to the area & I will have to get this tour guide. She is fantastic and is invested in the town, the stories, messages, and her work. You will NOT be dissatisfied or disappointed if you go and visit with her. It’s definitely worth every penny for the 2 hour walking tour !!!

So much fun, an awesome experience. I definitely left spooked. Dusti was a fantastic and fun tour guide, honestly one of the best in St. Augustine. She was informative, funny, and very attentive to everyone on the tour. If you want to learn about the ghostly history of St. Augustine, A Ghostly Encounter is the perfect place to go!

Amazing tour! Definitely the best around Saint Augustine. Dusti, our guide, did an excellent job of entertaining, informing, and spooking us on our walk through the most haunted city in the United States. Dusti went the extra mile and stayed around to answer questions and explain the city's haunted past to us and others in our group for a whole hour after the tour officially ended.
