The Liberty and Ellis Island tour were wonderful. The guide explained the history and background so well for all the visitors and he made the trip so informed - such a wonderful guide and leader.
Dear Viator,
My name is Arturo Gutierrez and I was recently in New York. I made an attempt to attend this tour but unfortunately I experienced a very unfortunate event which made me run late to the event by 15 minutes. When I arrived to the landing site I was greeted and directed to a box office window. At that window I was informed that I was at the wrong meeting point. I was then informed to meet across the street at a Starbucks location. When I finally got there I waited not knowing who and what to look for. I made a call to Viator to which I was scolded by a female attendant informing me that I missed my meeting and cannot change my trip date. I was informed previously that I would be able to make a change at an additional cost but the female attendant insisted that I missed it and cannot do anything about it. She also informed me that I would get an email notice from a representative which never happened. I was really hurt by the fact that I was dismissed. I understand that I had previously moved the date on two occasions but it is due to my incident. I only wished that I would be given another option since I really wanted to take this tour. I wish not to post this but I am left with no other option.
Our guide, Derek, was awesome. So knowledgeable about everything New York but especially about the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The Statue of Liberty is a must see in NYC but Ellis Island is truly amazing about the immigrant experience in America from the 1880's to th 1920's. Plan to stay at Ellis Island after the tour ends and take advantage of all the exhibits and places to explore. I can't recommend this tour with Derek enough. My daughter and I wanted to go right back!
