We’ve done a lot of excursions around the world. This one tops them all. Three of us went, 49, 50, & 12 yo. The office staff were very efficient, helping us feel welcome and then gear us up with their waterproof coats, waterproof boots that slip over your existing shoes, their gloves, and waterproof pants that slip over your pants. I just wore jeggings, long-sleeve shirt, tennis shoes, and zip up hoodie under the gear. The weather at the airport was cloudy and mid-60’s and up on the glacier it was chilly for my fingers and torso. We received a good overview of the flight, who would be riding when (9 of us going up in three helicopters) We flew in a 4-person helicopter to Punchbowl Glacier, about 7 minutes away from the airport. The pilots were both personable and professional and gave us some highlights on the flights there and back. The staff at the dog camp were easy-going and gave us plenty of time to mingle with the 32 adult dogs. They pulled all members at our sledding excursion time slot together to explain how the order of the 9 of us would go and explain how we would ride the sleds. Those that waited for their turn for the sled were able to go to the puppy tent to play with baby Brownie. The first group came back and they went to play with the puppy, while the second group went out sledding. The sled goes out and around the basin, for a long period of time, stopping 3 times to give the dogs a quick break and allowing riders to change the order of where they are sitting/standing if desired, including being able to help break the back sled yourself if getting to close to the front sled. Photographers were there to capture photos and offered a package of captured photos that they can airdrop to your iPhone before you depart. There was more time to mingle with the dogs and say goodbye to your favorite one(s). The entire tour felt like just the right amount of time, not being rushed in any way. It was a magnificent experience for us all, something that we won’t ever forget. Thank you for the time of our lives.

My husband and i just returned from Alaska and the helicopter /dog sledding combo was phenomenal. The experience was more than we expected. The team on the glacier were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The relaxed atmosphere with the dogs and the ride will be remain one of our trip highlights. The women at the office were also very helpful. They gave us great places to visit while in Girdwood...the Girdwood Picnic club and the brewery.....both excellent!!
