The entrance of SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is located on the Main Concourse Level of Manhattan’s Grand Central Terminal, inside Vanderbilt Passage.

All SUMMIT tickets are timed. You MUST arrive at your scheduled time, which is indicated on your ticket. SUMMIT operates at full capacity. You might not be able to get in if arriving more than 20 minutes after the time indicated on your ticket.

Any late arrival is subject to availability and a rescheduling fee

Dress appropriately to avoid unwanted exposure on glass and mirrored floors. We recommend wearing pants, shorts or tights when possible.
Wear comfortable shows. Stiletto heels, steel toe boots, sports cleats and other footwear that can damage mirrored flooring are not permitted.
Outside food and beverage, smoking or e-cigarettes, large packages, suitcases, or weapons of any kind will not be permitted beyond the security checkpoint.
There is no storage for person items. Large bags, large backpacks and luggage are not permitted.

We bought an afternoon ticket so we could see the sunset. It did not disappoint and the views were amazing both during daylight, sunset and darkness. My only complaints are (that I’ve knocked a point off for) that it was very hot. When the sun is out it gets unbearably hot (and it was only about 10 degrees outside). Once you’ve visited the 3 floors you cannot go back down and it took an argument for them to let us back down. They said we should’ve been advised this when we got into the lift but we weren’t. Finally people are very selfish and take 100’s of photos without moving on so difficult to get space next to the glass. Especially just before sunset when everyone is sitting by the glass waiting.

This place is more than an observatory it’s an experience!!! We visited various observatories while in NYC and this place was the best. Would definitely recommend!!! A++
